Still can't operate mods

Here's what I've got operating Windows 7:
Ubisoft
|
MODS
|
TMOwTw_170_Final
|
Data

Is this the correct configuration, or should I do something else? Should I use the TMO Data folder and overright the existing data folder? I don't have a mods to install folder anywhere!

With win7 make sure you install the game it is some other folder besides Program Files folder. Causes problems loading mods for most people.

If it loads right you will see a different start up screen saying Trigger Maru Overhauled.

long time user (computers that is) and recently installed windows 7.

I wont repeat what i said when i discovered that i could not easily manually edit files under program files. it took me all of 30 minutes of cursing and swearing before i figured out how to rectify the situation. Apparently even though you are administrator, you cannot edit files you do not own...incredibly enough you have to take ownership of the file you want to edit, make sure its not write protected and then and only then can you edit it. frikkin unbelievable.. if i am admin and i i want to edit/delete a file, i want it done NOW..do not second guess me. i am in charge, i make the desicion...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

linux (long time user here too) also operates on users and ownership on files, but if you are root, then you damn well can do whatever you want wherever you want and THAT is as it should have been.

did i say grrrrrrrrrrrr??

ps: rightclicking on a file in program files, and then entering the properties menu, and then remove the write-protect flag will yield no
error message, but it will in fact not work. if you take up the properties menu again, the file will STILL be write-protected. you must take ownership of the file first.. dont remember the exact procedure at the top of my head.

Since Microsoft has so much more common sense than anyone else in the world, they have decided that nothing shoud be able to overwrite files in the "Program Files" folder. I don't have Vista or Win7 but that is the way I understand it to be. There is a way around it with admin rights or turning something off.
Someone that actually uses it will be able to help you. Most of the ones I have seen just install somewhere else.

Another thing I noticed, if your path is correct above, it is wrong. If it is correct it is wrong? I think I lost my mind. Unless you changed it SH4 installs into
Program files

Ubisoft

Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific

MODS ......goes HERE.

TMO etc.........

Don't know if you put the Mods in the wrong folder or just typed it wrong.

Default don't forget

make sure you dont have an extra folder in TMO.

When you open the TMO folder, you should have the data file, etc.

Why are you using TMO1.9? Rhetorical question, but 1.9 is REALLY excellent.
