If somebody would have told me before the tournament that the German team would make it into the semi-finals, I would have spend the rest of the day with laughing. Obviously this is not the German team that after recent years I have expected.
The Swiss were bad loosers, or have I missed something...?

I think against really strong teams they still will lose, having chances only when they can afford to defend a score, but not when needing to score goals themselves while lagging behind. But maybe i should be more cautious with my assessement during this tournament.  Much will be revelaed in the coming months and years. If they can repeat their performance in the future, then one can say the trend in German hockey has changed. If they cannot do that, then it was just a "Eintagsfliege", assisted by the traditional advantage for the hometeam during a tournament.

Im happy for Germany.
I hope that this will make the sport grow in Germany as that would be good for icehockey playing world as a whole. The Swiss have also done good work producing top class junior players and will do well in the future. Im hoping similar development in Denmark and Norway. This would make it harder for Finland in future but also make every win even sweeter.
