They were a load of rubbish in the war, the Allies soon found away to to stop them by towing decoys which they homed in on.

Not much use in the game unless you wage war on the escorts with them.

Biggest problem with the ells is range, when in 1943 on wards you want to be a long way to stand a chance but no.

The range of ells are in fact,the main prob. but to avoid the enemy unit you stay an watch from safe distance or dive...
