You mean like how Activision got it right with MW2 the first time?
![]() No one gets it right the first time, though SH is relatively poor and Ubi support can be a bit hopeless. Communication between them and their customers is essentially non-existent. ![]()

Of course I am basing my comments on my personal usage of the games I talk about. And this ofc goes down to the detail of hardware and software compatability. |

Not sure what you're getting at with the config and compatibility stuff. Game looked and worked right for me out of the box.
![]() But I understand what you're saying. Like I said, it's relatively poor. ![]() MW2 was more problems with game-balance and exploits, rather then a ton of missing UI components, dodgy sinking mechanics, faulty animations, broken morale system, etc.

Think it's troop-transports you're after, not sure though.

As I have discovered AMC is "Armed Merchant Cruiser". It's a rather big and bulky, and heavy bugger and well armed. Look it up in the museum.
As Kylaina has pointed out, and I also concurr that they can be found mostly in the southern end of the patrol area just north of Scotland, and if one ventures in closer to Lock Ewe even more so. The spawn area is very near that base. I concurr on the area because the only one I found and sank was just north of Scotland. I nearly didn't get him due to the fog and heavy seas at the time. I was in this mission before patch 1.2, and the mission description didn't say AMC, but just said sink 5 ships, thats all. After the patch it now reads "Sink 5 AMC". Heh, had it said this before I wouldn't have wasted torps earlier in the mission. Im on my way back down to this area, and hope to wrap up this part of the mission soon. It's this one. : ![]()

Having everything in one thread means a lessened ability to find things by allowing you to search specifically by Title description for example. That said it amazes me how many people don't think to create a good Title summarising their question when they decide to create a new post. Generic "Please help" and "I have a problem" titles are not very creative and don't make it easy to browse through posts looking for potential topics that relate to your own issues. I could be wrong about this though. You're obviously a veteran in these forums, having joined in 1997, and I'm a mere whipper-snapper having joined in 2007, so I'll bow to your experience if you point out where I may be wrong in my assumptions on this ![]() I also agree that many new PC games commonly have some bugs and glitches at release but that's no excuse for having ludicrously stupid flaws that even the smallest of quality control teams should be capable of nailing & fixing before release. SH5 (and SH4, which is where I first started with the SH series) is littered with such flaws and they all point to a poor work ethic and apathetic attitudes toward quality control. The only bugs we should see in retail release games that we pay good money for are the kind of bugs that are very hard to spot straight away and are not the result of poor design and shoddy attitudes to quality. This is even more so when you are talking about a franchise product that is in its 5th incarnation with a game engine built on pre-existing (albeit evolved) game engine technology. Developers should be capable of learning from past mistakes. Last edited by Seefer; 05-15-10 at 03:04 PM. |

It's pretty easy to raise them up out of the way. There's a few mods that do that by default. TheDarkWraith's NewUI + TDC for example.

I keep getting stuck in the outer hatch during heavy seas.
![]() I click hatch, it opens, i climb out. get half way out and the hatch closed on me. I couldnt move. It's annoying, i have to wait for a break in the waves and then i can click the hatch and jump up. But its got to be timed right otherwise i have to wait a few more secs til next break in the waves. Happened 5 times last night while playing.

The hydrophone seems to be bugged.
Asked the operator for nearest contact and he says contact at 136. so i look for the contact through scope. Nothing there!!! i listen on the hydrophone.... Nothing there. i listen at 85 degrees and can hear a contact.... I and its close too. look through scope and it at 85 degrees and approx 1000 m away. i ask operator for nearest sound contact and he still says 136. ![]() I think its a diferent contact he's reporting.... but its just not there!!! ![]()

Hey Guys,
Not sure if this is isolated or just a coincidence. Since1.2.0 patch, the depth under keel, just crashed me, just to let yall know if that is some kind of problem to look for. Might just be I tried to do that on the surface running at 1/3 ahead, might have to stop or slow down.....not sure. Thx. |

![]() I use the enhanced SH5 style UI. It's the same as the UI in stock SH5 but with the added benifit of all the controls. ![]()
