I think it's clear which side I'm on in all this - but then, when you have a bunch of people in muslim dress in a room and run a file that says something like "allah gaybar" and have googly-eyed half-naked mohammed floating around the screen... you know it's gonna turn ugly. Brave of him to go ahead? Perhaps. But also moderately stupid in those circumstances.

In the end, both sides flipped each other off and got a small bit of what they wanted. One got to look like a great hero by flaunting a half-naked mohammed in public, the others got to pretend to be great heroes by headbutting a middle-aged guy trying to read a lecture. Both, IMHO, are jackasses. One is an intellectual jackass, the other side are stupid violent jackasses. The latter are obviously a bigger social problem, however you slice it. All there's to that.

Well if they don't like what he has to say, they don't have to listen to him, do they?
Anyway, IMO religion never ever justifies violence. If someone calls Odin (or any other Ás for that matter) a dog, am I gonna attack that person? No. Why does it have to be so different when there are muslims involved?

This is disgusting, threats against the opposition, storming halls, beating down people who have their own opinion - we had this bs 70 years ago where I live, mostly from a not so friendly dress-up-club called SA.

The thing which worries me most are not the actual acts/threats from these people, but the "scissors in the head" which they cause - which means that artists/journalists/writers censor themselfes even before they do something to pee others off.

Hell, if you give in to any group of lunatics, someday people will be cut down because they talk bad about trees - just because someone worships them - a concept which I think is more rational than the belief in a god

Religion should always be on a personal level, never influence a society!

Can we get not even once in a life - just for a change! - rioting Buddhists, African healers brandmarking modern medicine, or Vietnamese gangs demanding constitutional rules being changed to comply with Vietnam? Must we always pay attention to this primitive hysteria of Muhameddanism?

true about religion.
Never been a fan of "love it or leave it" - if you live here, and contribute to society you have the right to participate, including the right to criticize. However if you want to abolish the constitution or take away our freedom you deserve a bullet in the head.

When I find a decent job there, I would love to emigrate to Sweden, guess they could need some immigrants there who respect their culture. Though I will never worship a king I promise I won't headbutt him...

And their constant crowing of "Allahu akbar" is just showing that Allah is definitely not akbar. If he was, his followers wouldn't have to intimidate anyone who disagrees with the religion - they could just leave it to Allah to smite the critics.

It's a pity that Islam has such a violent undertone in its culture.

I think the main problem with Islam is that they are stuck in a 12 century mind set where all blasphemers deserve death, and Unfortunately In today's modern world things are so interconnected that these intolerant ideas are outdated. Most other religions in the world either never had these Ideas or have moved on to a more peaceful and accepting ideology. I still wonder when Islam Will move on as a religion and realize that what they are doing is childish and outdated. Because frankly...nobody else goes about trying to kill people who depict your deity in some manner or another anymore, and its sort of putting the rest of the world off...
