New Allied Weapon in 1.2 Patch Release?
********* SPOILER ALERT ************
*****REPEAT SPOILER ALERT ******* ****RIGHT ***** Downloaded shiny new 1.2 patch, loaded mods and outfitted my boat for battle and begun the cruise out of port when... Deck watch calls out U-Boat sighted. Excellent, I think - a fellow wolf on the way out to prowl for Tommie. Then we notice the smoke and a deepening pall settles over the watch. It looks at first as though a freighter has collided with the U-Boat ahead of us but the damage is so extreme as to warrant a violent blast perhaps. And where is the ill-fated U-Boat? The freighter is torn in two and sinking. Or so we believed. Suddenly half of the wreckage surfaces and makes for the far shore at high speed. Momentarily it halts then sinks again. Now rising with great vigor it sprays water like a mad whale spout in a dozen directions and begins dancing across the waves back towards the center of the harbor. There is a strange but familiar rythmn here and I begin to hum the Macarena under my breath. This is a shocking sight indeed. What vision of hell is this? Those British bastards must be behind all of this somehow. Do I risk a high speed run past this deranged hulk of excited metal? My deck officer has ordered stations at the deck gun and I call for all to be ready come what may. Should we just turn round and back to dock - alerting the harbor master to wire the local Luftwaffe commander for a strike? What would you do? Please be careful out there - 1.2 looks to have taken Silent Hunter 5 to a whole new level of adventure!

Thanks for appreciating my weird sense of humor. This bug is a serious immersion killer but at this point all I can do is laugh about it. Oh, and hope that my boat doesn't get hit by a flying 7,000 tonner. Unless I need the tonnage and I get credit for sinking it of course.

But yea I would assume you have a mod conflict. After all no mods have really been tested with 1.2 yet.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll roll back the mods again and see if it happens again (maybe a video for Longam if it does). Still, I can always dodge those iron devils. At least I'm playing again!
