Thanks for the update. Can't help but notice though that it's all bug fixes. What enhancements are on the list have already been done by modders... some of them 5 minute mods (if I understood correctly) and the rest probably done better.

Yes this game is buggy and the bugs need to be fixed before I'll play it again, but it is also woefully incomplete in many areas, and poorly or under-developed in many others. It needs enhancement just as badly as it needs bug fixes.

And while I shouldn't complain about getting something (anything!) out of them - even if it's just the thought that UBI, in developing this patch, has probably just wasted a lot of money on this game, and may now know how I feel - I can't help but think "why bother?" No amount of bug fixing is going to elevate this game above "dreck" level unless the needed enhancements are made. And that's not very likely to happen.

Yes, yes, yes... the modders will do it, right?

Well, let me tell you why this bothers me a little bit.

UBI publishes crap. They do just enough to make it functional, then turn it over to modders to make a real game of it. Well, who reaps the rewards? The modders get nothing for their efforts. However, UBI continues to make money through sales they would not have realized without the work of the modders! They're still making money on SH3 (unless they've sold the rights to one of those CD case discount distributors), because of the work the modders have done.

I'm sure this all started out as a happy accident which benefited both gamers and the publisher. But, from what we've heard, it seems the publisher is now expecting this - counting on it in fact, to finish an otherwise incomplete the game. IMO there's something fundamentally wrong with that. The whole thing just feels kind of greasy.

Hopefully the patch will be a big step forward. The Russian 1.2 patch still has some issues tho...

Before patch 1.2:

After Patch 1.2:

The current mods available should allow you to enjoy the game more than the minor patch we're getting tomorrow ever will.

Yes, for most your right, but IM a single core cpu, so my explosions/water graphics are a slide show, I would love to have that fixed and then remod up!

Never mind, didn't see that there was another page of posts. I apologize.
