You shouldn't just pour it in your glass as that makes it too clear, which influences it's taste. Ideally, you should not be able to see more than let's say 1.5cm (half an inch) through it.
To get it turbid, first pour in about 3/4 of the bottle (preferrably without creating too much foam). Then shake the remaining quarter a bit, and pour it right in the middle of your glass to make it turbid and create the recommended 2 finger widths of foam

Er... my standard operating procedure for beer is to take the cap off the bottle and start drinking.
