Default New info on Russian property deals in Finland

Year ago came the first reports of weird deals about Russian nationals buing property near strategic military installations.

More deals have been found by the journalists investigating them, civil and military intelligence officials dont want to comment the issue.

But generals have voiced their protest, off the record, that politicians dont take the threat seriously.

The Russian seem to be buying either cheap discarded property or others with greatly over the market price.

Some are occupied by people with suspicious background stories and in other cases the owners are no where to be found.

The new info reveals that most of the most strategic locations, intelligence, command posts and installations needed in the mobilisation of the army, are covered.

Many locations have warehouses built after the property was bought.

If Finland is as uninteresting as some people and politicians claim then this should wake even them.

Russia has more known intelligence personnel in Finland than in UK for instance.
And how many more possible "sleepers" in the 50.000 Russians in the country?

Only Finnish sources for now but i will post if some English reports appear.

Hello,

wasn't it during the cold war, that Russia "received" or better invaded territory every year from Finland, due to a contract Finland had to sign after the war ?
I thought this had been sorted out after 1989 ?

So now "private" russian people buy teritory around finish military installations ?? This does not look good at all - i mistrust (Ras) Putin, and this marionette government with Medjedjev.

Greetings,
Catfish

There were no Soviet troops in Finland every year, i dont know where you got that?

That was sorted out 1944 when they realised that holding on to the unconditional surrender demand didnt go well..
They had a navalbase untill 1956 rented in Porkkala.

Yes, civilians with interesting backgrounds or no trace of the owners.

The network is such that it gives an reason for them to move in the areas.

They are also suited to move troops and material into when planning a sneak attack.

The most crucial thing about Finnish defence is up to date intelligence and mobilisation of the reserves.

The network fits to plans of attacking these two points by suprise.

For Finland this is a really serious matter.

Hello,
thanks for clearing this up.
I had read that during the cold war, Finland lost small parts of territory every year, due to peace negotiations and contracts, in 1945 - so this is wrong ?
Thanks and greetings,
Catfish
