Not me! After I have a quick look see, I immediately lower it, whether it's the attack or observation scope. That comes from playing SH2/DC I guess.
I start lowering it while I'm at the 'scope station.

And in 3D periscope view...

Default Periscope keys

Chubster;

PageUp and PageDown raise and lower the Attack Scope.
Insert and Delete (next to your Home and End keys on a regular keyboard), raise and lower the Observation Scope.

F3 for Attack Scope view and O key for Observation Scope view.

...and yes, I've pressed the wrong raise/lower buttons on more than one occasion, LOL.

Default LOL

Glad you got it sorted out. Welcome to a clandestine club of subsimmers who have embarassed themselves on more than one occasion.

We're also the club that, in the excitement of battle, occasionally fire the wrong torpedoe tubes (i.e. aft instead of forward). Ooops, did I say that out loud! Scratch that, noone here has EVER done THAT!!!!! LMAO.

Forward instead of aft last night in my case.

May I add the club of those who forget that the "E" key in TMO and RFB have completely different uses. Suddenly blowing ballast 800 yards to the port of an escorted convoy is bad... Really REALLY bad.

Sorrry for the tragic sexist joke I just couldn't resist - I kept imagining Mr David Attenborough's voice saying "lesser herbivorous type 27s" and the rest just seemed to follow naturally... anyway, I shall (ahem) shut up now.

Funny!

I can imagine the English accent of the narrator on some nature documentry.
