Mock all you want - but I applaud the man not only for his actions, but for seeking the psychological guidance to deal with the demons he faces. The reality is that he is in many ways putting himself into the same situation that a soldier undergoes during prolonged combat. Yes, some of the stressors are different, but the impact is very similiar. In essence, he is subjecting himself to a mental fatigue few can understand.

Sleep deprivation alone can cause alot of his symptoms, but when you combine that with the physical aspects, it is very enlightening. Many survival training courses do something very similiar as what he is purposely subjecting himself to - forcing the body to go past the "limits" of the mind.

While I am concerned about his personal well-being - I am glad to see that at least something can be learned from it.

Don't get me wrong, I applaud his efforts, and wish him luck. It was just too good to pass up
