Oh god, my favorite part of that show was how much the various experts they had would get into it. And how they'd always refer to stuff in the present tense, like they were commentating on a race or something.

Actually most of the eps listed by the OP were from last season's airing. They're currently being rerun (at least here) as, IIRC, a "promo" to the second season's worth of new episodes.
I watched the first season until it started to turn into stuff with cannons and machine guns every week. The demonstrations of all the personal weaponry and fighting styles was interesting, but I found the constant "bragging rights" angle pretty eyeroll-worthy. Overall I'd rank it somewhere between History Channel's "Warriors" series ( ![]() |

So who won with the SS and the Viet Cong matchup?
Just curious. |

I've seen William Wallace vs Shaka Zulu and Maori warrior vs Shaolin Priest.
While the exotic weaponry is very interesting, especially the way they extensively demo them, the matchups tend to ignore tactics and strategy that maximize (or would counter) their effectiveness.

End result: Not "complete" demonstration of the matchup, which equals not much point in doing this at all really. |
