Darn... I had such a high image of US servicemen and it turns out they don't even need to be able to write coherent forum posts? The average drunken Norwegian russ could write a better OP. Please tell me milky12 isn't actually in the Army, but is just a spin-off of those little kids who hang out in YouTube comment wars, bragging about how much they've accomplished in Iraq while their profiles inform us they're 13 years old. I mean, seriously, his army company has sunk this low? It makes me want to call even his family bad names.

But whatever, it doesn't matter, I just wanted to check the forum before getting on with my Design and Architecture project, to at least feel refreshed enough to start working. I mean, damnit, milky12, I was this close to apply for the Norwegian Royal Navy for fall and I kinda have expectations of our allies. It's not like you're stupid, I mean, you've managed to invade and occupy two nations pretty much on your own, and many of you seem to be people from poor backgrounds who practically work for free.

When I get back from my studying, this message board had better be at a higher maturity. If you're going to sit on your ass by your computer anyway, that must mean you don't have any physical labour to do, so how about routing some energy to your brain?

That said, recruitment standards ARE low, because much fewer people will enlist this day and age. So some branch's will take whatever they can get. They're currently allowing people to enlist that wouldn't have even passed army standards in the past.

Probably due to the Afghanistan and Iraq debacle. Before 9/11, I suppose the Armed Forces meant easy money, physical and mental development, a first-class education, and the honour of serving your nation. Now it's associated with its true purpose, which is war.Not nearly as appealing.

Norway's military has been halved in recent years, only 1/3 of guys are being drafted now. Still wondering if it's a good idea, but given how ignorant I am of these things, I guess it's not for me to make a judgement on. I suppose it means higher "hirings standards", but I don't want another April 9th out of the blue. On a brighter note, there's more females in our military than ever before .

Personally, I don't care about the delay. I'd rather have the thing fixed then meet a deadline.

1) You were in the forces BEFORE 9/11
2) You were within the first bunch to enlist in an effort to defend our country
3) You did not join after the serious questions of this war surfaced.
4) You did not join for reasons other than serving your country.

If you are indeed some little punk that is not serving, and is just spouting crap off, may you burn in hell for a very long time.

As we speak lives continue to be ruined. The war is dubious at best right now. Soldiers that are good people are slowly but surely losing their minds FOR NO GOOD REASON.

The United States has done more damage to itself in these two engagements than Osama could EVER have dreamed of. We live in fear, we have nut bars walking around with God Damned AK-47s strapped over their shoulders as presidential speeches. We have congressional members calling our president....the man you are serving under....a socialist.

basically doing everything i could to enjoy stateside, cause once you go to your port call, its all gone, for anywhere between 6 months to 2 or 3 years. I loved the hell out of it when my orders kept getting extended.
