Wow those pics! What a show!

Warships put the fear in me, so I don't think I'll be seeing one belly-up in my game. When the SO barks out a warship bearing, I get the same feeling Resident Evil gave me when a zombie busts through a window panel. Goosebumps and everything.

Sailor Steve? Steamwake? Dowly? We know it wasn't krashkart.

C'mon, mensch, don't keep us in suspense all day.

You know, the folks in Portsmouth were a kind lot - if not a bit strange. After they'd beaten the tar out of us we were given a parade down main street. Perhaps the sight of our mighty Uboat rising up from the water and slamming into the beach was a sign of good luck or something? Maybe their crops will grow better now.

Their medical staff are superb, btw.

But for some odd reason they wouldn't allow us to see our boat again. I'd even asked if there was a mechanic in town that could help us repair the hull damage, but the soldiers laughed at me. I'm a Kaleun, not a comedian.

Just one question: we were put into these little rooms with bars around them. Do they put all kinds of people in these little zoos or just Germans?

Hi,

I once read that even loading internal torps in all but very calm conditions was not possible. You had to dive and load submerged. Another self-imposed constraint

Cheers.

I remember chasing a destroyer at flank speed once because I had not seen anything in close to a month, it led me back to a task force of 4 revenge battleships and several destroyers. Somehow I made it out of there without being attacked though.

What puts the fear in me is when you see a plane real close to shore and then remember you can't dive. After that first one about ten min. past and all of a sudden waves of them came at me. I had a XXI and the auto's were firing away but we got hit by at least 3 500lb bombs and down we went.

Could be much worse: at least the game permits you to dive even if you're in the middle of transferring an external torpedo inside. Imagine the absolute fun it would be if you spotted an airplane but couldn't dive at all (like it really was like) until you'd finished the transfer!

That sounds like a cool modification to try. Can dive commands be delayed or disabled temporarily when certain actions are in progress, like transferring torps?

Maybe through modification to the statemachine controllers stuff?

Now if we could also control only being able to transfer torpedos when you're at dead stop and the weather is 7mps or less . . . I already do that myself: I only transfer when I'm at dead stop and the weather is calm. But, erm . . . I have to admit I've dove when in the middle of transferring. Never occurred to me before that a U-boat wasn't able to do so. Owell, from now on I'll make sure to be even more careful when transferring.

Like others here I only transfer all all stop in calm weather.
Never been caught during a transfer.

What do others do if caught on the surface in the middle of a transfer?

Stay on the surface and fight it out?
Or dive, then later eject the torpedo, on the basis that you'd abandoned it during the panic?
