Well - in IL2, you basically build your own missions from scrap (with a powerful map editor). You can connect them into a campaign and it works like a continous campaign.

I thought of a similar approach here - connect different missions (e.g. you build your own missions based on historical facts) into a campaign.

Ok. Got that point - even it is not clear to me, how that would play out in a "private" campaign ?
