You added a choice in the poll for those of us who don't own the game, but added the stipulation that it's because of the DRM, which isn't the reason for many of us (myself included.) I don't like it, but it wouldn't be a deal-breaker for me, and I'm sure there are others who feel the same.

If you're going to have the option "I won't buy the game until DRM is removed" then you should also have the following:

  • I won't buy the game because I can't afford it
  • I won't buy the game because I prefer fleet boats
  • I won't buy the game because summer is almost here and I don't want to get sucked into a game
  • I won't buy the game because I'm content with the version I already play
  • I won't buy the game because...
The list could go on and on.
Forcing us non-owners into the "Anti-DRM" group is ridiculous.

Firstly, I didn't want write an entire essay of options 4 seems perfectly valid to me.
Second, I am not personally interested in the DRM issue...I bought SHV the day it was released and I love it, especially with the great mods but it seems many people do have an issue with it according to these forums, therefore I wanted to see if the imminent release of a patch had softened their stances on purchasing the game.
finally, if you don't like the subject matter of this thread, feel free not to contribute to it.....

Then why not have the choice "I might buy it now that I see they're fixing it"?

All I'm saying is that your poll suggests that the only reason somebody might not have bought the game yet is because of DRM. And the DRM issue seems irrelevant to the subject of your poll, which is asking about the delay of the patch. That may not have been what you were trying to do, but that's just how it comes across.

It's not as though I'm angered by it. I reread my post and apologize for sounding snippy... that wasn't my intent. I was trying to offer constructive criticism on making a credible poll that doesn't sound like it has a ulterior motive. I honestly came to the poll hoping that there would be a choice like the one I mentioned above, but was disappointed to find out that the only way I could vote is to gripe about DRM, which I'm not too concerned about.

I'm angry as hell! Also is hard for me to understand how come the community is so calm and many people can say "I'm a little disapointed". A little? Well, I would smash their lame faces. I fell robbed and insulted in every way by this amateurs, this company called Ubi is a bad joke.

How in the God name is possible that a major patch delay announcement is made deep into a topic in the german forum. Nothing else. Is there no shame or at least the minimum respect toward those suckers who bought their product?! These *****'s are completely ignore this community, they are a bunch of amateurs who fail to provide any quality in their products and services. There is nothing in this company that can work right, the PR and support is a complete joke and they fail to finish a patch because.. they have some "minor localization issues". I mean, WTF is wrong with this company?!?

One thing is for sure, from now on I will stay away from anything has the Ubi logo on it and I will strongly suggest my friends and anybody who have ears to do the same. These monkeys deserve no respect, as they constantly fail in respecting their customers. They only luck here is that SH is the only valid subsim around, maybe thats why this community is so calm and can accept any **** they blow on us. ******** them, bunch of amateur *****'s!

That's got a lot to do with the US based community team for Ubisoft. Now, had you asked how I feel about THEM, then I'd wanna smash their not-doing-their-jobs-at-all faces right in too. As far as I can tell they completely abandoned SH5 a few weeks before release. There's still pre-release stuff up on the UK and DE sites that are missing from the US site. They *never* post on the forums and their official posts lag behind by quite a bit.

But the game devs are doing things well so far.

Oh, and I didn't vote in this poll either, since none of the responses made sense for me.

I am going to assume it is because that alot of pepole are a bit more level headed and realize that in the grand scheme of things it is after all just a game.

Do you realize that if this would be AC2 or any other top10 game, the community would be in huge flame? A game is a product and you payed for it. If this would be a free game, then yes.. there is nothing to complain.

To be honest, I'm not used with this kind of treatment as I never played Ubi games, except SH3 and that was ages ago. At Blizzard there is no way to have such a great disrespect against the customers and the community. I'm not used to be riped off by nobody. When I pay for something I expect quality and respect. Otherwise, I would go for the pirated version as I see no point to pay for nothing.

Actually, right now the difference between me and those who play the pirated version is.. I got + 50 Ubi points and - 50 EUR in the pocket. I'm I cool or what ?

It's funny but I used to play WoW a while back - till they dumbed it down and took all the fun out of it (IMO).

The blizzard forums were always full of "Blizzard you suck" and "Waaaah I want a refund!" threads whenever there was a problem with the server.

I was never that bothered as I knew that they were working out the problems and trying to avoid it happening again (much as the SHV devs are doing now)

Maybe it's an age thing...

Blizz forums are full with 12 yo kids raging with "ai lost mai pet and i uant it bak nao" type of problems but hey.. it's a huge community and the kids playing WoW are overhelming. My favorite topics are always Wednesday when is the maintenance and the nerds come raging all over on support because they can't login

But, the serious issues are take very seriously, like account hack, login problems etc. In 5 year of playing Blizz games I never had any serious problems, that's why I'm not used with this crap Ubi style. I have the feeling that Ubi is a one man show. The developer, the suit, the driver and the support guy is the same person. If this is true.. yeah, I can imagine that keeping things under control is a bit hard

The only valuable thing in SH is this community and the moders. This site is really awesome and I really can't imagine playing any SH without subsim.com. Ubi should pay the people over here as they are pro in keeping this game on surface. Sad thing, they are always busy. There is no SH version without being bugged and in need of help. I never saw any other game so underdeveloped and based on the community help like SH is

That being said, 99.9% of all online communities goes into a "huge flame" as soon as someone's grandmother farts. It's par for the course.

I haven't bought the game but for those who have the delay is prolly a good thing, giving Ubi time to fix more stuff.

Which one of the four options above would someone who's stance has "softened" chose exactly?

My answer would be : Happy to wait for a complete patch.

I see nothing but negativity in your options and because of that I've not voted - sorry

Don't answer any of them then. Whatever makes you feel happy.....I don't work for Ubisoft, my poll is hardly official it is purely for my own interest. My apologies that I didn't frame the questions quite to your liking, next time I will use MORI
