This thread was quite civil for the first 13 posts. I'm glad that the moderators are willing to step in, but Webster was actually the first to fling poo, then everyone else jumped in and now we're all covered in it.

my comment here wasnt really directed at this specific thread, it could have been any of a dozen threads but the message is the same, cant you guys please treat the forums and your fellow subsim members with more respect then that?


i asked for the people to please make posts about the game in a forum created to talk about that game, how that can be seen as an unreasonable request escapes me .

by the logic of some, i should then be fine and none of you would object if i were to fill the sh3 forum with 150 threads about sh4 just because sh4 has subs in it too so its related to sh3 discussions or how about 150 threads about WOW because its related since its about war too?

i get it, you want to vent, you want to protest, you want to prevent others from enjoying sh5 or the forum created for sh5 users to post in, well your opinions and stand on sh5 is clear and nobody, especially me wants you to not post your comments but please do it within the context for where it is you are posting. if you cant see how that effects others, or maybe you just dont care, well then i thought better of you then that.

every last one of you would scream bloody murder if you liked this game and owned it and then saw the forum filled with 70% opinion or BS filled threads instead of threads talking about the game itself.

Hitler was banned from Xbox Live and then his Xbox 360 got the ring of death, so if anything he'll be playing Silent Hunter 3 or 4.

And "flinging poo" is my expression for things like name-calling that usually lead to arguments. Saying "you are now just being a bunch of butt heads" is considered name-calling, as far as I know, and also against the rules.

I agree with your sentiments about thread pollution, I just don't agree with your delivery of those sentiments. This thread would be better-placed in the "general" section, even though I can see how the OP would have thought it reasonable, and therefore shouldn't be scolded so harshly.

Guys, I made this Hitler video as a joke about a month before release - arguably at the peak of the DRM OSP anger issues.

i meant for the video to be funny, enjoyed by many... and to serve as sort of an inside joke for the subsim community.

It's my first hitler video, and the first upload to youtub i ever really expected would get much attention, and im glad that it did.

but a couple of things you have to realize...

1. The creative inspiration for this video came from the fact that NOBODY save maybe 2 people had nice things to say about Ubi on the date this thing was created.

2. This forum is huge, with new members joining every day... and with many members that don't visit frequently enough to notice it had already been posted a hand full of times.

this video is always going to be "new" to someone... so i think we can all expect it to be posted at least a few more times until the DRM thing settles down.

while i agree that the DRM thing is over discussed with negativity... i also know that the original poster of this thread only wished to share something he thought was funny... not start a flame war of sorts.

I think the best idea, is to just step back, take a deep breath, and realize the above enumerated comments are truth.

With all due respect GR, I don't think this has anything to do with your vid. It's all about the DRM and/or problems between a mod and poster. Funny clip though!

you are correct sir, and i apologize to you and everyone who read that. i also apologize for the acusation i made in my reply because you did quote me correctly there. i deleted my false acusation from that post #34.

no matter what was happening at the time, i shouldnt have said that and i dont normally say things like that or compound the mistake by failing to check things out when questioned about it.

i havent been myself lately and while that is no excuse i hope you guys can see i only meant as a general description of how i felt about the "we can spam/troll the forums all we want to" attitude that many people tend to have and it was not meant in any way as a personal insult to anyone.

As I said in a thread elsewhere - we're all a little jumpy at the moment, so don't worry too much matey.
