I'd say that it's rather different from MW. But now that you mention it, I thought earlier that this isn't really...Battlefield, as I know it. I've having a helluva good time playing it, but I don't really consider this to be Battlefield 3 so to speak...especially since they're actually working on that one. This would rather be a sidestep on the way, but it's fun! And it's NOT MW2, thankfully. (I like MW2 but not it's multiplayer). They even make some references to MW2 in the singleplayer campaign

But to compare the two games....well, the Singleplayer is kinda similar to eachother, that is, both campaigns are pretty predictable and straightforward. Go there, do that, etc...Had fun, was very cool, but not really a prize winner.

Multiplayer, well, I for one hated the MW2 multiplayer. No serverbrowser, you couldn't select server, team, or even map (!) and when you start playing...well...can you say "grenade spam"?

IW addressed this problem in this video:

Needless to say, it didn't really work. Note that they named the sponsor "F.A.G.S."

DICE also took up the grenade spamming in a humorous video. If it was to poke fun at the MW2 video? Most certainly. Was it better? Oh yes.

(Sponsor aptly named "F.R.A.G.S." ^^

But the significant thing here, is that in BC2 it takes more skill to survive and kill than in MW2. Grenade spamming really isn't that usual in BC2, thus making the experience far less frustrating....though those snipers can be a real nuisance...

Also to note, that the maps in BC2 are pretty big, making for some real epic battles, when you have full teams that is. Also, as I'm sure you understand, noobs will be noobs and you will encounter teams of near-all snipers, but hey, that's the Internet for ya...

Which sums up why I won't buy this game, which is the lack of bot support. I don't play PUG games any more.

I would rather play with dumb bots over even dumber corpse tea bagging humans any day.

Don't they make bot mods for this? Like on COD4-5, someone made a bot mod for it, why can BFBC2 have the same?

I have both MW2 and BFBC2 and I can't say one's necessarily better than the other. They're very different games with very different dynamics. BFBC2 is still very definitely a battlefield game. It's definitely larger-scale, slower-paced and shooting there is harder than in MW2.

I really like the Rush mode for BFBC2. It's great and really does have a good sense of scale. Strangely, I find that conquest maps in the game really kind of don't. It feels to me like Battlefield games are getting smaller and smaller, for the sake of pure graphics quality.

Out of all the "modern battlefield" type games, my favourite by far is still the original Desert Combat mod that started it all. BF2 and Bad Company may have added cool new features, but honestly... I don't think they really ever managed to best or refine the original formula.

That said, BFBC2 is a fun time in multiplayer, although you do have to get past an initial period of frustration of playing on servers where players are obviously a lot better than you.

Was it a real bot mod as in server based, or a client hack though?

I believe it was server based, one time looking through the server list on WAW, I saw a bot server and joined, its mostly bots in there but there's a few players too, but haven't been in that server for a while.
