cant get deck gun to fire

I usually use the binoculars and hit space...the target is locked by the men at the deckgun but i cant tell them where to aim.

I tryed to use the deckgun but its IMPOSSIBLE to aim

if you look at the top left there is a binocular view for the main deck gun... use that and scroll up / down to get range, best used in conjunction with the map
