That is weird, I am over 1.5 million tons sunk in SH5 and have never seen them sink through the sea floor right away. Eventually they do, but never instantly. I agree with Webster, I would like them to only vanish after you go outside of sensor range.

Nothing wrong with them vanishing that soon, it just clears up ram and thats a good thing. Besides whaddya wanna do, conduct a salvage operation?

no but a valid tactic is using the sinking or sunk ship as a shield or protection from DD runs and its presence creates added hazards for the sake of more realism so yes it is very much a good thing if they hang around. IMO it would take less computer resources then animated quicksand |
