Brilliant story .

Also like the story of the Dutch submarine near Gibraltar... Dutch sub did see a german submarine (u-95) signaling him, the captain of u-95 didn't know that it was a Dutch model that looked like a german u-boat... Dutch captain fired torpedoes, and the u-95 went down!

Well you see sinking subs is not the job of Uboats, and unless specificly ordered to do so then leave them alone.

Your job as a Uboat captain is to sink enemy shipping, not warships. That is unless it is part of your mission under orders.

To spend torpedos or any ammo on a sub is simply wasting them when they could have bagged a merchant, which as I said is what the Uboats were out there for.

Im sorry, but if a uboat captain or any other sub captain could have the opportunity to sink another sub i would have thought he would take it, considering the amount of damage they can inflict on there convoys/warships, so to say leave them alone doesn't really add up to me.

In this game the obj/missions/patrols are flawed as has been mentioned in other posts.

I will sink anything i can as long as it does not jeopardise whatever the mission i am on, not that there are any mission/patrols it can ruin.

I remember atleast on case from WWII when Finnish sub (Vesihiisi or Iku-turso?"wasted" torpedo to Soviet sub when they surprised it on surface. Don't remember details anymore.

For a Uboat any warship was a target of opportunity so, unless taking action against it would endager the primary mission or pose unecessary risks, there was no prohibition.

Of course, if you're Gunter Prien and you're tasked to sneak into Scapa Flow you won't stop to sink every damned destroyer or armed trawer that happens to pass nearby

That's just common sense!
