Default Unable to deactivate network adapter through DRM

A online buddy of me told me hes unable to deactivate his network adapter while sh5 is running.
Can someone who owns this program confirm this?

I can't delete files when I have them open either !

( I have heard the same thing, and suspect it is true, but I have never had any reason or motivation to check for myself )

This was confirmed long ago and has nothing to do with OSP. It's Windows itself won't let you deactivate a network adapter that has a currently open encrypted connection. Anyway there's never any reason to deactivate a network adapter.

And no, you can't delete files that are open by the file system either, as in a game running and accessing the files.

Why do people try these things?

That is not correct, I can (at least in XP) always deactivate my network adapter, despite active connections.

So it's more likely that some other software is preventing you (or your friend) from doing so.

Most likely either firewall or AV software denying.

Why would you want to cut off your NIC anyhow?!

Oh... wait... I really dont want to know.

Yes why on earth do you want or need to do this anyway?

The sim wont work without your network adapter working, so whats the deal?

Talking not for SH5, but in general (I don't know why the OP needs to do so),
I disable my network adapter once in a while just for checking my firewall configuration.

I could unplug the network cable, but that check works only properly if you have just one active adapter.
Having multiple adapters active with different firewall settings for each of them, unplugging the cable doesn't result in a
proper check.

I think the question still stands, "whatever for?"

And hey, don't believe my when I say it has to do with encrypted connections and spend all day trying to figure out what program is doing it when it's the OS. Not my wasted day.

That question has been answered, I think.
