What does he doe for you? For me there are no dialog options exept exit dialogs. Is he broken?

It wouldn't be half as bad if he were actually ABLE to plot a search pattern!

actually I 'd like to know if he's broken somehow, he should has more options available, he even skills to train but never when I click on him does he have a list or any of them to choose from. just "new course...
ninety.... New course....Ninety....New course....NINETY! NINETY! NINETY! NINTEY! NINETY!" all the while I hear from the ladders, "man da deck guuunn!.... man da deck guunn!.... man the frigin deckgun yall!"
with the ambiant desiel soundclips changing vollume from loud to almost none every other minute, like my helmsman is playing with the speed telegraph or something, "huh huh... I make boat go fast, den go slow, go fast, go slow...fast, slow, fast, slow, fastslowfastslowfastslowfastslow..."

I hate the german navy.... they're all worser than that crew from Down Periscope.

I haven't found any use for him either, except to totally drive me nuts with his "We are in shallow waters captain", over and over when we are in anything shallower than 25m or so. It doesn't help though that the seabed in SH5 is so realisticly uneven and thats what causes his constant repeating it when in the shallows as you travel over it and it keeps triggering this response.
But I've never seen anything in the dialog to have him do, even though every time I open it with him he always responds with "Ready for your orders captain" But so far there's never been any to give him in that dialog.
And he never seems to have anything on his mind like the other officers do from time to time.

There's a mod for this in the mod section where you get more dialogue options from certain members of your crew

with tis mod you get a weather report and depth under keel as well as the general chat stuff

other wise the navigator dosent seem to do much except occupy space in the control room, ie he's important looking eye candy
