Well all the hair splitting is IMO a bit fruitless. It all depends on the year of manufacture, and even the area of operation and at the end of the day there were so many variants throughout the war how could anyone really do them all justice?
And those two pics, one a real boat and of what year and location isn't known or stated and is obviously a very early boat given that the engine intake channel is on the exterior of the tower, the other a plastic model which looks to be the Revell and is of a much later year.
So no real poof of anything there.

And at the end of the day, who really cares? Is its that imperitive?

The Devs did a fine job as far as im concerned, and I dont care to sit and split hairs over it. So have at it.
