I think spending £2bn on tanks when the country is in debt is ludicrous anyway no matter where the contract is placed. It also has to be remembered that the Government is bound by rules governing procurement of goods and services especially for contracts worth this amount of money and sometimes it is not always possible to place the contract where you would like to politically.

Maybe a lend-and-lease contract ? They used this before, and England can pay it back when it has won the .. ahem.
