Default Anyone finished yet??

Has anyone got to the end of the game yet?? Just finished the third capaign and starting on Arctic convoys. Couldn't take on Operation Drumbeat for some reason.

What happens at the end or is it worth waiting for??

Yes several have 'finished' the game.

Honestly 'finishing' a SH game is an ailen concept to me.

Lol - Same here , although in SHIII it was normally the save bug that finished me. In fact that was the main reason I quit SHIII , lost too many careers to that.

Haven't come across anything like that in SHV so I'm hoping that I will get to the end of this one.

Hmmm, wow. In my mind to have finished this thing in less than a month you playing too much, and TC'ing too much and rushing through it all too much.
Or one simply has nothing else to do but play this thing, or has no life outside of gaming.
Me, I got other things to do and places to go and things to do like work and friends and well just life in general.

Im just now finishing up the first patrol of "British coastal waters" and look forward to taking as long a time as I can to get through this campaign and just taking this sim in as slow as possible. I like to taste what I eat.

I'm still tooling around in Mare Nostrum (3rd campaign section).

I've sunk all the reuired merchant tonnage in the three designated areas.. and all i have left to do is find 3 more battleships and 2 carriers. Still have 6 months left to find them.

I feel like im on a treasure hunting expedition instead of a U-Boat. How many capital ships do they expect me to sink during this war?

If I remember correctly someone claimed to 'beat' the game within 24 hours.

Still wandering around doing the Happy Times part of the campaign.

of course I do like placing myself on the con and then start reading a book while the game world goes by

Wow, thats not worth the 50 bucks it costs.
To me it's kinda like building a model, I like it to give me something to do for a while. Cause thats half the fun, and if I could have it done in a day it isnt worth it, fun's over too soon.

Now I bought my cousin's boys a couple model ships for Christmas and the buggers had them built by the next day. But they didnt paint or detail them one bit. Just a completely gray plastic lump. What a waste.

Me I like to take my sweet time, and take in and enjoy things and learn all I can along the way. Like a good meal, savoring every bite.

Well as long as you stay alive, do you ever really "loose"? Thus one could just TC through each campaign relatively quickly to unlock one of the next ones, yes?

I used to collect Warhammer (as if my name wasn't a clue) because I was a young lad with too much money and too little sense. And my favorite part of it was putting the figures together and customizing them; sculpting new bits, modifying parts, mixing together different sets, etc.

Yet I never really got around to fully painting all my guys. They are all still here somewhere, taking up space.

ADHD ahoy!

My little boy does Warhammer and he likes that aspect, too, putting them together and painting them.

Five years in, and I've still never 'beaten' SH3.

I wouldn't have it any other way.

Well, my plan is to never beat the game, but doing the oposite, to put forward the end as much as I can, otherwise you have to start over if you want to play, and then its boring, been there, done that..
Not for me..play until SH6 comes.. if ever, otherwise our end will be on the bottom..

Ill be lucky to ever finish the whole campaign before a super mod is completed. As anything that adds realism usually makes me start the career over. Im have played through the first campaign a few times and started the 2nd. However I have restarted the first again and am only 4 patrols into the campaign again due to mods. For me personnally using to much TC and not going to the bridge too scan around from time to time would ruin it for me.

ATM I play 100% realism and whats ruining it for me is when I am plotting on the map, even with the contacts off I see the merchants if I mouseover them. So I dont want to advance too far untill these bugs are fixed even with mods. Then again I am still finding SH4 to be superior with mods atm. So basically I wont be finishing more than 2nd campaign till mods/patches fix it up.
