Hello,
first thanks for your answers ! Guess i understod this right, and will look for the readme  You wrote: " ... If you are going to start the game in Sep 3 1939 you don`t need this mods ..." (meaning Mediterranean and Pacific) Ok, i start Sep., 3rd 1939 - Med and Pac not installed. Will i get an order to go to the Pacific somewhere later regardless of installation, and will i have to install the Pac Mod then (after receiving an order) ? Like "Go to the the Pacific, Penang base" - now i should install this mod "Go to the mediterranean" - install the other mod ? I have not played far into the career with those mods before - i just like them very much, and do not want to spoil the gameplay later and lose a campaign because i screwed up the install somehow .. My install looks like that: 1. RSRDC_SH15_V550 2. RSRDC_V5xx_Patch1 3. OpsMonsun_V705 4. OMv705_to_V720 5. OMv720_Patch2 6. OM_MultiCmd_keys 7. OM_Pac_Env 8. OM_SH3Command_Keys 9. OMEGU_v300 10. OM_SH3_Command_Keys 11 OMEGU_v300_Patch5A 12. DBSM SH4 13. DBSM_SH4_Speech_Fix 14. Paulsen_Soundmod_V2.0 As soon a sthe OMEGU_v300 starts, you have to choose what to install, from the package. I left some things out here, like harder escort 1+2, and some others. I wonder whether this installation is how it should be ..  Thanks and greetings, Catfish |

I`m using L_2 and now is okay... not so hard, but I read, further could be harder, but in the port you can change this, if is too hard for you I think, the best thing for you is go straitght to the readme There is much more information X:\Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of the Pacific\MODS\OMEGU_v300\Support\OM_Readme_files I can`t tell you more about orders, because... honestly, I`m still waiting for new orders or new u-boat, VIIc, or change area.

Hi,
thanks so i will install the Pac mod, when i'm ordered to go there, or the Med mod for the appropriate order. edit: Two last question: 1. Is there a command key for switching-off the menu at the bottom, to get a full screen for screenshots - i did not find it. I guess it was the "del" key in SH3, but not here .. 2. What does the OM_MultiCmd keys mod do ? Thanks and greetings, Catfish |

Hello,
Lurker thanks for taking the time to answer directly !  Thanks to you and all contributors for these phantastic mods. Just to write why those problems arose: 1. I have found the readmes, they are in the subdirectories of the MOD JSGME directory, in "support". I somehow thought the readmes would come with the mod file, like a "xyz".rar and a readme. But got it now. 2. The two main packages of the OM and OMEGU mods come with numerous sub-mods to install, so i thought i had to install some picked-out sub-mods, and the main mod after this - from the order of appearance in the mod package after unzipping - so this is wrong. As well some sub mods of the two main ones appear in both OM and OMEGU packages, so i thought i had to enable all of those with the same name, one after the other, to get the latest changes in - and only finally the big mod itself. From the order of the unzipped subdirectories i thought this was the way to go. Wrong again. Reading the links and what you copied here, i wanted to use the following configuration or lis, of mods: quote: " ... If you wish to play US Navy and Uboat operations and use OMEGU plus optional OMEGU mods: RSRDC v550 RSRDC_V5xx_Patch1 OM v705 OM v720 OM v720 Patch2 OMEGU v300 OMEGU v300 Patch 5A ..." I still do not understand it. There are several sub-folders in OMEGU v300 and the OMEGU v300 5A patch. I surely cannot copy the whole OMEGU v300 folder unzipped, in the JSGME mods folder. Instead i have to copy every sub-mod i want to use, under the MOD folder in SH IV, to then activate it with JSGME. But in which order ? First OMEGU v300, and then its sub-mods ? And then OMEGU v300 patch 5A, and then the sub-mods being in there ? Or first OMEGU v300, then OMEGU v300 patch 5A, and then any sub-mods of the two ? Generally yes that's the way you'd want to set up your order, though I remember reading something about RSRD having compatability issues with OM that Lurker just discovered. The way I have mine set up is 2 directories. One for Fleet Boats (RFB + RSRD) and one for OM. I just rename the folder when I want to swap back and forth, though Multish4 (never used it) works too from what I understand. As far as I know, RSRD doesn't actually reallly do anything for OM unless you're in the Pacific which only applied to 1 or 2 U-Boats I believe. |
