Performance improvement from Nvidia 9800gt (8800gt) to gtx285 would be 50%.
From 9800gt(8800gt) to Ati HD5870 improvement about 70% and upgrade from 9800gt (8800gt) to new upcoming NVidia gtx480 approximately about 90-100%!

All numbers refer to 1650x1050 screen resolution!

Huh... they are comeing out with a 480 GTX... (link in possiable please) thought they were going for the 300s?

No they reserved that for some other line of cards, iirc. New ones will be 480 and 470.
