The sun in SH5 is no longer an image (texture).
The sundisk is hardcoded, the size and color are constant values from the env. cfg passed into the constant registers of the sky shader.

Unlike to SH3/4 the sun_halo texture is no longer rendered over the sun disk, either on purpose or it is one of the many things that were not completed for the release. Therefore, one can see in any camera angle the sun disc and not the sun glow over it like in the predecessors.

Sorry, but you must be thinking about a different solar system. The sun's apparent size does not appreciably change with season, it's always 1/2 degree across.

I know it is more than likely impossible, but how about having it like in real life where it looks big when on the horizon then seems to shrink when getting higher in the sky.
You know the whole curvature of the Earth thing, same with the moon.

Now that would be Awesome.

This is already implemented, open the EnvColor_xxx.cfg 's, and you can change the size of the sun in relation to the viewing angle

Wouldn't the size of the sun/moon be largely impacted by the zoom level of any camera taking a picture? These are all gorgeous sun photos, but being that the kaleun isn't 'taking pictures' of the sun/moon, the best idea is to simulate how the sun looks to the naked(drip covered?)eye... The small sun looks gorgeous IMO.

I am looking forward to this one. The smallest sun looked the best to me.

There is a lack of Sun_Halo , this problem sooner or later need to be fixed

Default Sun_Halo

Sun_Halo to do very bad in the SH5,I can only adjust to this result. After the completion of environmental MOD, let me adjust Sun_Halo.
