My nephew bought SH5 & I played with it on his laptop for a couple of hours. He was very disappointed with it and now he's returned it. He has not the fastest laptop, although it did meet the minimum requirements, but the nasty thing was my brother's internet connection is not so good so this was the main reason that made it unplayable. He's new to the genre too. I had hoped to test out my torpedo calculator in the game but now I don't have that possibility but if it works in SHIII and SHIV it should work in SHV. The rudder indicator is a known issue in the game, and as I remember, it showed either 1 degree port, or 1 degree starboard, or hard-a-port, or hard-a-starboard. As for all the other stuff if it's there I never found out where, and I checked the forum a couple of times to find things like the echo sounder, compass and battery and so on.

![]() Tbh not too sure about the rudder indicator as I wasn't aware that there was one. For manouvers I use the compass add-on to steer the boat that seems to work quite well, the other mod that selects "return to plotted course" is another must have IMO. I just keep trawling the mods forum, we have to remember also that it's only been a week and that another patch might (should) be on it's way. The "out of the box" controls you are given to manouver the boat are very poor IMO |
