question please help

when sizing up a torpedo attack, and in the angle on the bow bit, theres a little ship icon in the middle, well is the top of the ship the bow or the stern of the target ship.
i just cant work it out.

please help

The ship is facing "upwards". So a Port attack would be on the left side of the image while a starboard attack on the right.
