Default Stopping the flashing help boxes

At the top of the screen that show you what your mouse does, can they be disabled?

They irritate me !

You would have thought these would go away after the tutorial or at least after the first one or two times.

But nooooo... they are there constantly every time I load a saved game

Now I can understand the one for your current 'task' but how to move the camera? Cmon I figured that out in about 10 seconds.

It is kind of annoying, I looked around for an option to turn these off but dident see any.

Yes, irritates the hell out of me too. I just can't ignore them and feel compelled to open them up and close them with 'X' every time.

If this isn't fixed in the next patch, given what a simple matter it is, I might lose my sanity

I saw an entry in one of the .cfg files stating something like "tutorial_completed=1", so the game only needs to check that value. Well, unless that line is a leftover from SH3 or 4...

On a related note, I would like the option of also being able to close my current objective(s), so that slightly ugly yellow exclamation mark isn't permanently at the top of my screen. I can always open the Captain's Log to view it/them again... I really don't need a constant reminder of my current task. It's not like it tends to change that often.

Annoying the heck out of me, too. Don't like tooltips explaining the most basic things in the first place, but when they spam you, Modern Warfare-style, they're just unbearable.

On the beginning of the mission: The blinking strobes are friendlies!
Thirty seconds later, when firing within a mile of friendly infantry: Watch for the flashing strobes! Those are our guys!
One minute later: Do you see the flashing strobes? That means you're watching friendlies!
Two minutes later: Crew, do not fire on the flashing strobes. I repeat, do not fire on the flashing strobes. Those are friendlies.

Or in this case (along with picture of mouse):
Left mouse button does this
Left mouse button does this
Left mouse button does this

Aaaaargh!

/me goes over to Mods workshop to download JSGME and look for mods to fix this and other problems.

I agree on the tips and flashing tip icons, and I also dont care for the highlighting of all the clickable stuff. It doesnt take long to figure out what's clickable and interactive. And besides all ya really need is for the pointer to change to a hand to indicate this, which it does anyway on top of the highlighting.
It takes some realisim out of it to constantly see characters and things highlighting as you pan your view around.

You guys don't keep forgetting how to do things? I do. If it weren't for those constantly flashing boxes telling me how to move I'd never move!

While we are ranting did anyone else notice that the close / minimize buttons on those 'tool tips' are kind of backwards?

Cant tell you how many times I open the tool tip to get rid of it and hit the minimize instead

Agree on that, too, I find myself using the "ALT to show what's clickable" feature, but highlighting stuff as you move your mouse over them just kills immersion.

Yeah there's three things indicating interactive items and all at the same time. And through walls as well, on things you cant even use from where you are yet the pointer is still changing to a hand. It's fooled me more than a few times, thinking something on this wall was clickable, when what it's responding to is in the next compartment.

Yes if they'd just have an option to turn this feature off would do it.

You should be able to disable these annoying things in the options, hell they got to go.
