Default Weather bug fixed, now new bug

Ok, the weather seems to be fixed now so that it doesn't reset the timer, but instead changes the weather a bit shortly after you have loaded a saved game.

Now there's a new bug; sunset & sunrise times

I saved my 1xTC patrol last night at 18.50 game time. The sun was way over the horizon at the time. Now I loaded the game and the sun has gone under the horizon and it's dark already.

During my patrol, the first 'end of daylight' mark on my logs was at 20.21, the second 19.25 and now the third 19.42 (the sun was partly under the horizon at 19.10 already). In all but the first one I had just loaded a saved game.

Now you mention it, I noticed something wrong yesterday but didn´t paid much attention to it.
I just did a check with an earlier save and you are right, it´s borked.

Yup, it seems the game fast forwards the sun's position by an hour or two when you load a saved game. Atleast in sunrise/sunset situations. I just hope the enemy AI's visual sensors keep up with this.

The weather changing right after or shortly after a load game is unacceptable IMHO. Because you'd be in a fog shadowing a small convoy, and after a reload it's sunshine no fog and you are under fire.

The save/load game's have lots of bugs. I'm checking the SaveGame folders and can't really see where the weather is saved

The weather doesn't change suddenly. I loaded my last game with 11m/s winds, an hour later (game time) the winds went to 7m/s and 15 minutes later it was down to 3m/s.

It's certainly better than having the weather clock reset everytime you load a game.

Wish I coud upload pictures atm because there is definitely a great difference in sun position after loading a saved game.

( still have issues with my new sys and upload program settings hehe)

If we're positive weather doesn't change right at load time, it's not too bad. I have to test this more, to be sure.

I'm doing a 1xTC patrol and keep logs on weather changes among other things.

Here's the latest loaded game with weather change:

Last entry before saving and quitting

18.15 Clouds Wind 11

After loading the game

19.42 Clouds Wind 7
19.53 Clouds Wind 3

And most current

20.32 Clouds Wind 3

Yeah, been trying (!) to follow your progress. The observations you make over time like the weather, sea state, crew condition etc. will be very valuable info

Not directly related to this, but it'll also be interesting to see how many contacts Dowly comes across on his 1xTC patrol. I remember someone studied the subject on SH3 way back before even TGW was released, and the conclusion was that a higher time compression factors leads to less contacts. IIRC they set the sweet spot around 256x, but also noted that even then lowering the time compression factor would lead to an increased probability of contacts.

I swear I've had a time when I saved during a horrible storm, totally dark with lots of fog. It was so bad that at 500m I couldn't get a lock on a ship in front of me, I had to track it via it's wake.

When I loaded back up, the seas were choppy, but it was noticeable brighter and no fog to speak of.

If it happens again, I'll try to remember better.

DRM Bug ?

perhaps the game synchronize savegames and the time with the ubi server ...
remember that savegames and perhaps another data runs between your pc and ubi servers, some in another local time depending of the country .

I have had saves where the day/night and weather changed. One was where I was ahead of a convoy at night, in fog and was approaching on the surface. Salivating greatly, I saved the file, in case, er the game crashed (no doubt about me missing shots or anything like that). Then 'something' happened (I didn't miss the big battleship, honest!) and to my great surprise it was no longer night and was no longer foggy. Oh dear, I thought as the first shell whizzed by my ear and the whole convoy turned away from me, leaving just the DDs to come and play.

It started raining on me when I loaded a game from a clear weather, that's why I was asking...

Any other confirmations? Looks like another save/load game bug

Yep same here, 3 kinds of weather types on same save.
