And because of the closer connection, SH4 would be the likely candidate for that treatment, not SH3.

And I agree with Capthelm. SH5 is more open and ready for modding, so adding the missing elements should be much easier than back-porting stuff to an older game.

Thanks...the thread title is misleading. What I mean is turn SH5 into a sim similar to SH3 with a full war campaign, all subs modeled, realistic interface, etc. This way you have the improvements SH5 provides and the simulation elements that SH3 has but were left out in SH5.

Of course if that is possible then a Pacific theater rendition would be great but I realize all of this would be a lot of work.

Ah, gotcha. Sorry about misunderstanding.

From all that has happened in just the first week of release, I think we're going to see SH5 surpass everything that's come before.

Providing we can actually start the game
Ducimus has already given up and I know of a couple more thinking along the lines
Yep some great tools shipped with SH5 but no tutorials on use
Esp mission ed
SH3\4 ships show with no textures despite following instructions from a dev
New software needed to construct and place new ships ingame that has a hefty price tag and no free versions

So not sure just how " more moddable " is accurate
Lots of mods already which make the game passable but these sort of mods were released for SH3 and 4 real quick also

I haven't even bought it, as I have no internet connection to hook it to.

I think that has alway been the plan.... Already we are seeing mods that add feature that were in SH3.

In time I'm sure that SH5 will be an improved version of SH3.
