I would prefer some really good German wines rather than the liquors made here. But that is another question.
Flensburg for example used to be the MOST famous city of rum in the past. All the ship traffic was because of rum in the older days. Today, there is only one factory left. I am not advertising, so i should not link to it. Regarding subs, a lot of uboats were scuttled here in Flensburg "bay" at the end of the war, and still there are a few remains... UBoat Destroyer Z43

Well the limitation of production is a reason for not being that famous. It is a manufactory in its best sense. I visited it once, it is just a few steps away from my home... Wait a minute...  It is situated in an old castle...
