Ok here's the Virginia. Couple of things. First, at this point it is NOT campaign playable. Second, FEEDBACK! I need your feedback as to how the mod works for you. I've been having a consistent problem with CTD on exit of the game, but others have said that they haven't. Oh and there is no Readme file with this yet, this is more of a beta I guess and I haven't taken the time to write that book yet.

first bug i noticed it is increddibly slow for a virginia maxes out for me at 6 knots

Very nice sub. I wish i could do that but i´m learning. The sub works fine so far with no problems. The speed is a bit low and it will not work with the RE mod and the Visibility mod by Webster. It works on a SH5 V 1.5 game. I will try it with other mods and if i run into problems i let you know.
There was no CTD at the end of the game.

Try engaging the Walter Turbines, that will kick your speed up.

Turns out this was made for v 1.5 is there anyway i can get it online just downloading that patch and not buying a new game?

I love it!, very nice job, kudos. The camera system is exactly that of RFB, i realized that immidiately, which is nice except for the fact you can pan right through the middle of your sub and other ships. The Mk. 48s are nice to have. The boat has really nice dynamics through the water i think, she behaves pretty well at high speeds, too. Nice touch btw with the automatically extending radar mast, however it would be nice to have it extendable/retractable while underway at periscope depth. I noticed one thing, I don't know if this was only a one time thing or what, but the rudder didn't shift very smoothly, it kind of moved in increments, Its not a big issue, just noticed it; also there is kind of a strange texture on the bottom of the rudder/verticle stabilizer, it is kind of striped or something, also nothing significant. anyways thanks for a great boat (campaign would be nice too eventually!)

Unfortunately you can't have one without the other. I put off buying the xpack for a while but when I did I was glad I did.

Ello, ive got theoriginal CD version of SH4. Not sure which version that is. Are there any of these sub mods (Nautalis, Typhoon, Ohio, Titan, Kraken ect. ect.) that are compatible with with the CD version?

Depends, do you have the u boat expansion on cd?
If yes that is the 1.5 version.

I have both on cd aswell.

Guys,

I know its a bit bad asking this as Ive not got the first clue of how to model these boats and make new designs. However can I please make a request.

PLEASE can someone do some just post war boats anything from say 1945-1955.

Also can some PLEASE do a model of the Ocelot, an O class D/E boat.

Id love you all forever....and ever.


(Also was that GUPPY ever finished??)

Default Starting locations and transfers

I've downloaded some interesting modern sub mods, but many appear to be restricted to the Cavite / Manilla flotilla (e.g. Skipjack mod & Foxtrot+November mod). The problem with this is that the waters around the Phillipines & the Indonesian Islands are quite shallow & would be the last place you'd put a large submarine if you had the whole of the Pacific Theatre of operations to choose from. Also, is it possible to transfer to Pearl Harbour? I haven't been able to do so.
How could I edit the mods to make Pearl a viable starting point?

That was something that always puzzled and bothered me as well. The only reason I can think of for that is less travel time to the action. To fix it you'll need to edit the CareerStart and Flotillas.upc files in the UPCData folder. Use the 688i mod as a reference as that uses Pearl as a start location.
