pssst .. a little bird told me your sh3 disk is in the back yard or on the roof, the kids were using it as a frisbee toy

IMO the game isnt worth buying right now, let the mods make it playable and in about 6 months you will be able to buy it for nearly half price

Default Don't need the disk

Assuming you still have it installed, you don't need the SH3 disk - there are steps you need to take to remove starforce copy protection (Ubisoft santioned) in a sticky at top of SH3 forum - required to get it working under Vista / Win7.

Does that not require an uninstall and then reinstalling the game?

Because i couldnt be bothered uninstalling and reinstalling the game and all the mods. Just to remove Starfoce (not had any problems with it).... its easier for me to just pop the disk in.

There are loads of complaints about how bad the game is from people who haven't bought it or played it. Some of the ones who have bought it and played it are also complaining, but a lot of people are just playing it and not bothering to keep up with the spam churning of these forums, as they are busy playing and enjoying the game.

You can pick up a copy of SH4 with the add on for 10 or 15 bucks... I like SH4 and there are a ton of kick ass mods for it. If you prefer uboats though, try to find a cheap copy on Amazon or something. SH5 will frustrate you sooooo bad. You cant steer the boat like you would think!!! You have to spend 'Morale points' just to get your crew to do their jobs!!! This game is not in a good place right now and probably wont be for another 6 months. Even so the modders, who are working for free, are gonna polish it. Maybe that was Ubi's plan either way its terrible right now and certainly not a 'sub sim'.

What are your PC's specs like? are you sure it would play it? If so i would suggest getting it.
