SH 5 ROCKS! New Review 84% from Gamestar

Maybe Gamestar is one of the three biggest game magazines but also the most incompetent. That´s not only my opinion, you can be sure of that

I probably give it great marks as well if I installed it and looked at it for a few hours. But do these guys know anything about this series I’ll go by what is on here by fans that know what they are talking about.

Gamestar is pulling a "shiftey". Gracious Salutations to the folks of "Grey Wolves" as we still have a great subsim of the Atlantic Theatre of Operations.

Unfortunately this review doesn't have much "meat" in it. Not surprising for Gamestar, Andreas is correct. Not much details or facts, little to learn from it. When again is Neal's Subsim review due? I guess that has become more or less the verdict by which all subsims are measured...

let me guess how it will go:

"The development of SH5 was shrouded in a lot of controversy that bitterly divided the community on our forums [link] with the controversial new OSP form of DRM.
Ubi was also shifty in giving out preview copies, we only received ours two weeks before release.
And the game has bugs, some pretty major ones, but there are already patches out, and more on the way.
But the game is great, a true diamond in the rough, and unpolished gem, a flower in early spring, a mildly polished turd, the guys at Ubi Romania are swell, ubi are great and send us review copies, because, lets face it, nobody else makes subsims and we don't have a choice but to do what they tell us, and take it up the arse without so much as a reach around.

The game is beautiful, you can almost hear the voices from das boot as [that guy] said [that thing] to [that other guy] and we all laughed, or the time we watched [other sub movie] and remember the heart racing tension of [that bit] as the beautifully rendered water floods into the fully 3D cabin, and swells around your crew, you can interact with them personally, something longed for since the days of [insert stone powered computer]

But after all that, if you're a dedicated subsimmer, go out and buy SH5, show support to our hobby, the dedicated modders, the hard working folks in Romania, our sole reason for existence..."

There have been several articles over the last year and a half revealing that many reviews are rigged.
They are part of a contract and indeed money is paid for favorable ratings. Did you ever wonder how in heaven a game can already ship with review scores on its box on day 1 release?

It's best to just go by the opinion of a group of people whom you know have similar gaming interests. That's a much more reliable 'review' than the ones presented by gamespot and their fellow thugs.

Lol. Its easy to imagine Neal altering his review right now to not match your vision of it

Gamestar hast pulled the review of SH5 off the site and has announced that they will look at it again, due to the MANY complaints by their community. And yeah, I wrote a comment or two there, too...
