It definately has a more arcade feel by far. Hopefully the modders can make it more of a sim.

Feels just like all the other Silent Hunters but with amazing graphics, added Immersion and, IMHO, a nice slick interface. I really think they have made some effort on this one - Makes SH4 seem like a real rushed effort to make some quick cash. SH5 has obviously had a lot of attention. I'm not dismissing the fact some important things are missing and there are a few bugs - but so far this is an amazing effort considering what we have had to put up with in the past. I have a feeling Patch 1 is gonna make us all happy. |

Personally, and with respect for different views, I don't find it especially arcadish. Granted as built and esp on full automatic, it has some arcade features. The interactive highlight stuff is perhaps an example, but there's already a mod to ditch that.
I'm now on manual targeting, although still with map contacts, and already I find that less arcadish. De-select map contacts and my expectation is that there should be essentially no arcade feel at all.
