Default Depth Gauge

We all know that our subs crush depths can be adjusted. Many subs in the download area have been done. Is there a modded gauge that will compliment this showing depths further than 450m?

There is a 600' Balao depth gauge for the control room, but there isn't a way to change the one that's part of the GUI.

Any way to mod that into the game for modern subs, etc?

Not hard to replicate. I think i was into the data/menu/gui/dials.cfg file. I just don't remember exactly what i did. I think i changed the depth dial type, theres two. Just "depth" and "depth_international" or something like that. That amount of depth in feet is due to a conversion error in the game that i forced by changing the type of depth dial it was - if i remember right.

Also, If i remember correctly, the dials are hardcoded internally on the upper and lower limits of the depth gauge, so it doesnt matter how you define the dials upper and lower limits. All i did, - i think - was force a conversion error by using a SH3/uboat dial type.

The dial itself, i edited in gimp and added the numbers to reflect the scale of the dial.

Might be pointless to do so.

a.) player sub stops rendering at.....500 meters if i remember correctly.

b.) Deliberatly going deeper then t 600 feet ( 182 meters), the trim is all out of whack, and beening able to maintain depth seems impossible without full/flank on the telegraph. If anyone found a fix for this id love to know.

yea id love it if someone could find a way to deal with it.I've been to 700 feet before, had to maintain 5 knots to stay there, was in a Tench.Pretty rare if go that deep though.600 is usually plenty. Still, wish someone could fix it.

Yet another thing overlooked by the devs.Wonder if SH 5 will have that.

Yea I noticed that when I order cruising in the 688i Mod at 500+ feet I have to keep at least ahead 2/3s to keep from losing depth.

Also, does anyone have the clickable 600' depth gauge for the balao interior?

Not to knock on the devs here, but I think they really need to spend a little time out at sea on a real submarine. I spent a fair amount of my time onboard driving the boat. I picked up a few things from the Diving Officer and could trim the boat myself if I needed to. There's a lot of other things concerning boat handling that I could go into but I'll spare everybody.
