Make sure to post those panel close ups, I would love to have some new textures for my VS projects. Especially any older Russian ones.

EDIT: Also some pics showing the CCP and Conning Tower layout of Juliett 484 will be very helpful with my next project. Thanks.

Iran has coast that borders on the Indian Ocean and in theory a nuclear submarine operated by them could easily go to the Red Sea, the Straits of Malacca or missile range of Diego Garcia or Israel.

True but they probably don't want to take any chances.

I went to Battleship cove a couple of months ago and loved it. The immense size of the Battleship Massachusetts is simple amazing. They also really let you go a lot of places on all the ships there.

on a side note, where abouts in Massachusetts do you live? I live in Plainville.

It was there the last time I visited.

In france at Cherbourg you can visit the first SSBN le Redoutable without restriction , it take about 45mn to cross the entire submarine front the torpedo room to the aft section.

Hi...

IMHO - you're not missing much back aft... On my class of boat - the only view to the reactor was through some very thick small cloudy glass view ports mounted in the deck... Not much of a show - and - you probably didn't want to spend too much time gazing while the plant was hot... Most of us "cone'rs" tried to keep trips aft of frame 52 - to a minimum... The rest of the engine room looks - pretty much - like any othe vessle in the navy...

As a nozzleman on a damage control team - most hated drill: FIRE IN MAIN LUBE OIL BAY... Arrrrgh...

Nothing like putting your hands on history... Someone mentioned Pearl... I had some schools on Ford Island... I still remember walking around the island and putting my fingers in some of the bullet holes left on some of the concrete buildings... Definately brings it all home...

Regards,
Scott

I'm hoping to put them up on a new website of mine in the near future. (I let my old site expire.)

And thanks, Bill

I have visited the North Carolina several times and "slept-over" on the Mass (during a North Atlantic storm in an outer bunk at the waterline, very loud, water against steel... ). The thing I remember most about both ships was the smell, like well, old warships.

I saw the Massachusetts when I visited Boston. They also have a Russian gunboat.

Very interesting....Almost clonked myself on the hatches though. 6'3" isn't the best height on a ship.
