Default Need some help with .3ds

I have acquired a .3ds model of ther Oscar II Class. What kinda program uses .3ds?

3 d studio max (autodesk)

I could transform it into .obj useable by S3D but not for a few days..

unless you already have 3d studio

Alot of 3d programs can inport/export 3ds.

I have 3D Studio Max 9, but it says "File Open Failed." Do I have the correct program?

Is it difficult to do this, transform the file to .obj usable with S3D . I have just started to play around with Autodesk.
