I've been intrigued by SHV since it was announced, and the vid only fuels that. Yes, the soundman alignment is a slip-up, but is there any indication how old the video is? Perhaps this is something that has been addressed since it was originally taken.
On the plus side, ship mechanics look impressive, with the destroyer and corvette bobbing believably in the swell. Hopefully this applies to one's sub as well. Shadows look good. Moving around the sub pen to handle port business looks very interesting too. On the down side, I find the interface a bit strange. The clean "HUD" seems nice, since it's out of the way, but the periscope screen is quite bland. Also, the FPS crosshair is distracting and would seem to be unnecessary, since we're not running around port with a Luger looking to plug enemy soldiers. (Right?) But these things are probably easily modded, so they may not be much concern in the long run. Now if we could just do something about that OSP..... ![]()
