Why hasn't anyone voted for Italy? Come on guys, those feathery things on the helmets are so chic ...

Yeah i was about to mention that. Its a kevlar version of the Fritz pretty much.

Political BS aside, the Germans were ahead of their times in respects to certain peices of equipment. The helmet is one of them apparently.
Another is the MG42. To this day many machine guns core design can be traced to the MG42. The M60 is inspired by its design if i remember correctly, as well as a bunch of other machine guns that other countires use. Not to mention the MP44 as being the worlds first assault rifle.

Subs, well, everyone knows that one.

German A Frame Web gear looks vaguly similar to what the Alice LBE while i was in the service.

Its also probably not a stretch to say they came up with the worlds first cruise missles. Anyway, watch the history channel long enough, you'll see all sorts of useless knowledge

may be it's the photo, but they look somewhat nasty on those pics.

I think the part that always made them 'evil' looking are the black gloves.

Actually, some russian uniforms looked kind of intersting, especially the late war type. And I always liked the winter ones: http://rkkaww2.armchairgeneral.com/u...1.htm#Baltic41

but the big pants always threw me off - why do they have to be wide on top?

one size fits many - you can always cinch it up with your belt.

When you have to make millions of pairs of pants, it makes more sense to have two sizes: big and small.

which uniforms/medals/equipment/vehicles were your favourite or given the chance you would love to wear or use.
I voted USA. IMO they had most of the coolest stuff.

The .45 Thompson, the Garand, the uber destructo Browning .50 Cal heavy machine gun. The Bazooka (Actually I like the panzershrek better, but it was just a larger copy of the bazooka). The timeless Jeep, P-51 mustang (Though this had a British engine), F4U Corsair, P-39 Airacobra (which had a hub mounted cannon that shot a shell the size of a grapefruit), and last but not least SPAM!

Well. the basic german infantry uniform was probably the coolest (helmet).....but the US paratrooper uniform was just ba. In terms of vehicles i like the german panzer !V, stuka (noise), and halftrack. Overall it is a tie between US and Germany. UK sucked because they had a horrible helmet and wore short shorts and tall socks. Which doesent look good

With my gold silk pajamas, burgundy bathrobe with medals and my super bowler hat, I was the most fashionable officer in WWII

That's certainly true. 1730-1810 was the golden age of uniform fashion. The British looked good during the American Revolution as well.
