I would have voted for the:

I'll wait for the game to be release, I'll check reviews elsewhere and comments here by credible members, then I'll make a decision.

But since this wasn't an option...

I simply didn't vote.

I voted 8, but I only want the DRM gone. Seriously the crap we'll have to put up with almost makes it not worth getting the game.

I voted Buy asap of course! This game is gonna be awesome and you're all gonna look like mugs when the reviews come out and they're all brilliant! I'll be waiting outside for the software store to open on the day of release. Just like I do everytime there's a new Silent Hunter game. Can't wait!

If you guys cause even 1 hour of delay in it's release I am gonna be pissed!

The insane DRM is a deal breaker for me. This is the first time I will pass on a SH title.

But hey, GWX for SH4 will probably be great.

#5: After seeing how the project was handled, right from the start, Ubisoft has lost any confidense I may have had in them. I was looking for an expansion, improvement, and corrections to SH3. Ubisoft's SH5 appears to be one giant step backward.

As a side note, if I can't buy and own a game, as I can a book, I have zero interest in spending my hard earned money on it. I also have zero interest in doing business with a company that offers such an ultimatum. Bye Ubisoft.

At this stage the only thing that concerns me is the DRM, I will not go online to play a game as a single player! believe it or not I would prefer Starforce!! My ISP is slow and often down, I live in the country and the exchange is 5km away so sometimes it drops out due to weather conditions, also the telephone lines are very old and I am often calling them out to fix them!

OKAY, OKAY, OKAY

Will this do then? Before setting up a new poll, which pleases everybody...
And please remember the forum only allows 10 options!!!!!!!
This way you can tick the box nr. 9 only f.i. if you don't care about the missing features.

1) I'll buy it asap no matter what.

2) After having read the first user comments.

3) To support subsim games.

***

4) I'll not buy it, the uboat side ain't my favorite.

5) If released as planned, I'll never buy it no matter what.

***

6) If released as planned, I'll buy it, once the price is reduced.

7) Only with the missing uboat types.

8) Only with the missing years.

9) Only without DRM.

10) If copy-protected, then only with a more player friendly solution.

I'd like to hear what the Ubi Devs have to say about all of this.

They've been a little scarce around here lately.

I hope they haven't been scared off.

So let me get this right.
(1) You will have to be connected to the internet to play SH5
(2) You will not be able to play any saved games unless you are on-line
(3) The only version of sub available is the type 7 (all classes)
(4) The war only go's as far as 1943
(5) The ships you are attacking will have damage bars showing above them
(6) You will be able to walk through the VIIC and interact with the crew
(7) The graphics of the game are improved over SH3

My Personal responses

(1) This screws anyone who has a slow connection or uses Dial-up.
(2) Kiss the last two hours of game play good bye the server has shut down for one reason or another.
(3) Disappointing as I like the IXC subs as well because they are more useful on convoy attacks having two rear tubes.
(4) So the players of SH5 are not expected to last any further then say mid 1942 then.
(5) Great so when you are attacking a target you will be able to imagine you are standing in a seaside arcade store playing the game on an arcade machine. will this mean you will have unlimited fast loading torpedoes to attack multiple targets at the same time if not then this feature is a waste of time.
(6) To make this worth anything it must randomize the responses of the crew and also react to orders given by the player or else it will become boring to say the least.
(7) From what I have seen this is true but if the rest is correct also this will also be a waste of time as most Sims players will not be seeing it as they will not buy the game.

Silent Hunter 1&2 I never played so no score Unknown
Silent Hunter 3 (un-Modded) 8/10
Silent Hunter 3 (fully Modded and with LSH3) 9/10
Silent Hunter 4 (un-Modded) 4/10
Silent Hunter 4 (patch to 1.4) 6/10
Silent Hunter 4 (Fully Modded) Unknown I got rid of it
Silent Hunter 5 Not promising at this time for sure
Predicted score 4/10 (unless changes are made)

So at this time SH5 is not worth buying unless you like arcade style games.

I regretted buying SH4 and I will not waste money on this version as it stands
Long live SH3 I say.
