http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=160204 - I don't think it's too light. (The morning sun is reflecting off bird droppings) ...lol I used this public domain picture for the texture. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...oufuiwa_07.jpg You could darken up the texture easy enough with a graphics program like Gimp or Photoshop if you want. just my observation based on the size of the waves in that real life image, i think you need to double the height and width of it but the shape and colors look spot on.
maybe 2 sub lengths high and 1 sub length wide excellent work ![]() |

From the discussion topic, (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...php?t=160204): Sources I have read say that Sofu Gan has a summit height of roughly 325' or approx 100 meters above sea level.... To rough it in I Imported a SH4 Gato class model which is approx 310' long to use to compare when I built the mesh. This model is close enough for me. As I said, It is intended to be a representation of Sofu Gan, not an exact duplicate my crew can climb and measure. If you want to build a model that is 600' high and 600' +/- wide feel free but it would be twice as tall and wide as it should be. I am satisfied with it as it is. It isn't perfect but at least it is close to the correct size and close to the correct location. Happy Hunting! Art -

I think Webster's right, using a pencil to get the length of the sub and then comparing it to the height of the rock, it's about 60% of the height of the rock.

That's gotta be it - lol - (man, this is a rough crowd to please......)
OK, it looks like a nice day for a cruise: ![]() the result: ![]() It's close - 290' - 300' above sea level when it should be 325' +/- If one wants to pick it apart further, the north - south, east - west measurements are off as well, and the precise shape is a little different too. Like I have said, this is meant to be a representation of Sofu Gan, I built it for myself, and thought I would share it if anyone else wanted it. I'm so happy to finally see Lot's Wife in SH4 !! I've been intrigued by Sofu Gan since 2002 when I first saw it in our mission orders and looked it up. Happy Hunting! Art
