Default Sweet deal ! (politics)

Isnt this exactly the kind of thing the current administration railed against and promised to put an end to?

Campaign contributions should be capped at USD 100, per person/entity.
It would solve a-lot of graft problems, and put John Q. Public on an equal footing with Big Business Interests.

They promised that they would stop the current deals, but they would make new deals. It didn't have to be any different!, Other than who they gave the deals to.

They day this stops is the day the sun rises in the west and sets in the east!

This was a renewal of a 2004 contract that was competitively bid. It is not unusual for contracts to be renewed, especially if a continuation of operation is deemed important.

If every contract renewal were to be competitively bid, people would be bitchin about how much time and money is being wasted when the result is usually for the contractor who has been doing a good job to continue.

Yes of course having a competitive bid for a contract renewal makes no sense at all
