No this boat is going to the right while the other is to the left. Jehh i wonder did they paid someone for the cover ? They could have just deleted the periscope and repaint the planes. It would have just the same effect on the target audience.

There is so many problems with the graphics I don't even know where to start:
1) the font is completely wrong: maybe good for nuclear sub simulator but, for crying out of loud, use something with better historical value
2) which kaleun (in right state of mind) would order blowing emergency ballast to pop on the surface right after torpedoing capital warship from aft tube(s)...
3) right in the middle of the task force and...
4) right into the bullets from strafing airplanes?????

I can see the sky periscope extended (why don't you ****ing USE it?!).

While this "action" graphics might appeal to 13-year-old, in my book it is an
EPIC FAIL!
You're arguement is useless without lots of pictures that have hand-drawn arrows and captions.

Hello,

" ... the font is completely wrong: maybe good for nuclear sub simulator but, for crying out of loud, use something with better historical value ..."

Ahem, at least the font is ok in my book. This "Gothic" or "Frakturschrift" that emerges again and again in WW2 titles is wrong, because it was forbidden under the Nazis, maybe you should read some books about this yourself

And to show everything that the boats had to face (minus mines, ok) is at least a clear description of what awaits the player. The face of the Kaleu says it all ..

Nice Zombie proposal though

Greetings,
Catfish

Yep, it does look quite similar to SHIV's, but I still like it. I must say that portraying a realistic situation shoudn't be and isn't the main concern on SHV's cover: were talking about an artistic view of the game's theme. It is supposed to draw your attention to itself when placed on a shelf, after all.

I, respectfully, disagree.
Take a look at SH3 cover: It does portrait a real situation and it DEFINITELY drew my attention on the shelf.

But, for the record, I still don't like the font (but the inside graphics makes it bearable).

Yes, Silent Hunter III's cover is quite good as well, IMHO. It happens that most of the games released in the last 3 years seem to follow the "sexy-nuclear apocalypse-zombie-pattern", even though it doesn't quite fit the simulation genre: in the end, it's still about selling an attractive image. I believe that the path that appears to have been chosen by UBI is the correct one sale-wise, if not the most appealing to the hardcore fan-base, which I proudly include myself in.
