Default Just for Fun: What is ... ?

Hello All:

Just for grins:

What is the greatest depth at which you have sustained damage from Jap cans?

What is the greatest depth you have dove to and lived to tell about it?

What is the worst damage you received and still managed to hobble back into port?

What was your biggest bag with one bow salvo?

Dave

Greatest damage at 600ft.

The greatest depth is the max allowed to dive and live for each class. I had to figure them all out, so I ain't telling, but most of us take a peek in the files so we know.

Back to port with 94% damage, sub was unrepairable and I was given a new one based on my looks alone.

My biggest bag with one bow salvo would have to had been my first wife.

LOL@ Armistead, well played sir.

1.In TMO 1.7 I was at 650 feet in a Tench class in Summer 1945 in the Sea of Japan.Just sank three ships in a convoy, four escorts on me, ideal sonar conditions, mustve been their A team, even for TMO, they stayed on me.Had to go to 715 feet to get away.A depth charge exploded close enough at 650 feet to damage some pumps, bow planes, compressor.disable 4 of 6 bow tubes.Lucky didnt do any hull damage.

2.715 feet I believe was the deepest I went and lived to tell about it.

3.Worse damage was a long time ago in TMO but like Armistead, was given a new boat(well new to me, went from a Gato to a Porpoise class) had 90% hull damage with basically all major systems wrecked except propulsion somehow.

4. Eh hard to remember but think it was a convoy in TMO, ran into a convoy in 1944 in Formosa Straits, wanted to damage as many as possible like I had just read in O Kanes book Clear the Bridge!, so hoped for best and fired two torpedos for each target, which was 2 medium and one large tanker.Luckily they were all filled with fuel and blew up just fine, so three important tankers down with 6 fish. Most ships other than small ones require more than that unless they have volatile loads on board, luck was with me.

Come to think of it, my best bow Salvo was when I took out 5 ships with one torpedo, just hate you don't get credit for the ones you didn't hit. I love to do that, just sucks you don't get credit. I also took out 3 others with the Salvo, so got 8. That was cool watching one ship explode, causing the Domino effect. It was the 50 ship Java invasion Force, ships all loaded, so they exploded nice, causing a domino effect. I did wait until the right group was bunched together...should get credit dang it.

So I sit here with my game rig broken and this piece of crap won't run the game...Pisses me off, just went through the black screen of death and had it fixed not long ago.
