You know, thats pretty funny :P

Unfortunately, you've pretty much summed up the direction that video gaming is going in the last paragraph... It appears we computer gamers are a dieing breed of gamers who enjoy a challenging, long, singleplayer game backed up by a solid multiplayer game instead of a short, mindless, button mashing boring multiplayer game with a 2.5hour single player campaign loaded with so much graphical overload that even the non-epilictic will develope epilepsy...

I smell delay or cancelation... hopefully just a delay...

My second guess for a big announcemnt would be that UBI are abandoning silent hunter after SH5 and there will be no patches because of sinking global financial crisis . Therefore the SDK will be released . SH5 will become available on XBOX .

This is the feeling I got when I played Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (I guess that makes it part 6... or maybe part 4-2.. ?)

It was very obviously geared toward ADD kids. The designers were terrified that 0.2 seconds without balls-to-the-wall action would cause the ADD player to lose interest, so the result is a nonstop onslaught of THOUSANDS of enemies running at you without a second to take a breath. There is no surprise or anticipation because you're in "frantic mode" 100% of the time. It's basically a coner movie.

Coner, mmm no. A gang? Sure. Maybe you just had a bad batch of coners. I know quite a few of us enjoy something thought provoking occasionally.

A release delay is not a big announcement, it´s a bad thing , so my guess is..

A release date for the VII playable sim , other subs follow in addons or community mods using the VII model interior and non playable 3d models of XI XIII, TII... ( too short time to make all boats playable)

The presence of wolfpacks in the atlantic.

A port of the game for console users ( end of realism, mods, and Sh history)

yes, i agree. i do not understand the uprise of the consoles. i played console, when i was a kid. but since there where nice pcs, i only played games on pc. the possibilities of controls and modding are so much higher...that consoles are just for the quick fun. therefore i only play soccer on the xbox, cause it fits to a console. but a simulation on xbox??? lol. its like someone tries to sell tasty, cultured cooking products at mcdonalds!!! this is nonsense. many games do not suite on consoles...i wonder, when the DECIDERS will understand.

That was certainly what I was hinting at... I think the part that frustrates me the most though is that now PC games are just being ported from console to PC (MW2) or delayed out right for 3 months after the release of the console versions(Assasin's Creed 2). Considering the first AC felt like it was a direct port from the consoles I wont be surprised when the new one is the same.

MW2 had it's fun points, and the style of making the single player a constant non stop action movie is cool and all, but it took me 3 hours on Veteran to complete the SP section of the game... Thats really sad. I miss games like Halflife that took days, was challenging and thought provoking.

That is the entire reason I got hooked on SH3 ages ago. Granted, I played stock SH3, never completed a campaign (was too difficult when I was playing it in "arcade mode") When I found out SH4 had came out, I bought it ASAP and got into the mods and the realism. The alure of the SH series was the length and the thought provoking game play, not the graphics or the non stop action!

Anyway, I remain skeptical of a release date, but a delay of some sort or saying that the xbox 360 will see a version before us dieing PC gamers do...

I hope I'm wrong, truely!
